A copper-alloy Roman as of Hadrian (AD 117-138), dating to the period AD 119 (Reece period 6). [BRITANNIA, PONT MAX TR POT COS III S C] reverse type depicting Britannia seated facing right, foot on rock, resting head on right hand and holding sceptre, large shield to right. As RIC II, p. 412, no. 577B. This is a coin of British Association, struck in Rome for issue in Britain - 39 specimens were found in the Sacred Spring in Bath (As Walker, 1988: p. 291, nos. 1-39, pl. XXXI). Weight is 8.64g, diameter is 26.3mm, thickness is 3.2mm.

A late 10th to 11th century AD Cloisonné disc brooch. See Buckton 1986, p.12, fig.4, no.11 and Weetch Type 20.A. cross with lobes. This brooch weighs 6.89g, and measures 25.0mm on the same axis as the pin x 25.7mm. The back-plate has a thickness of 1.6mm and is circular with twelve approximately equally spaced rounded lobes projecting out from the edge. Four of these lobes have a diameter ranging between 4.5mm - 5.1mm. The upper surface of these four lobes have a copper-alloy collar, within which sits a glass sphere. An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative, rear hook brooch dating fro 43-65 AD. This is a brooch with a rear hook and a sprung pin mechanism. The remains of the brooch weigh 17.32g. It has a maximum length of 49.5mm. The curved wings have a width of 37.7mm and measure 9.0mm on the length axis. Close examination of the worn upper surface of the wings shows, now subtle, grooved (and possibly ribbed) decoration, transversely across the wings (on the longitudinal axis). An iron axehead of Early-Medieval date. These early Anglo-Saxon 'Francisca', Frankish throwing axes date from the 5th to the 8th century AD. The example recorded in this PAS record is a type from early in the chronology of Francisca. The remains of this socketed tool-head weigh c.0.6kg (600.00g). It has a length of c.146.0mm, maximum width of c.37.0mm and maximum height of c.85.0mm.
