The plate is rectangular in shape with a small sub-rectangular cut out at one end to accommodate the pin; at the other is one rivet hole with circular section rivet in situ. The fragment measures 27mm in length and 19mm in width.

A copper alloy buckle frame dating to the thirteenth or fourteenth century AD. The frame is oval in shape with a small triangular lip. The lip has been notched to accommodate the pin. The frame extends to an integral forked spacer with a narrowing to hold the pin. The pin is in situ and comprises a triangular section strip of metal curled around the narrowing. The buckle frame and forked spacer measure 32mm in length and 19mm in width. Similar examples are illustrated (eg. Nos. 323, 324) in Egan and Pritchard (1991, 79)

A copper alloy buckle plate dating to the thirteenth century AD. The buckle plate is flat and square in shape with two circular perforations, one containing a corroded iron rivet. The upper surface of the plate is decorated with a rampant animal facing right. The animal is in relief whilst the background comprises cells filled with blue enamel. Two rectangular lugs extend from the plate. Remnants of gilding are visible on these lugs. These are broken but would originally have been looped around the buckle frame. An unusually large buckle frame dating to the medieval period. The frame is D-shaped with a narrowed pin bar. The wide outside edge is decorated with an engraved zig-zag forming triangles; those with their apexes towards the external edge are filled with faint rocker-arm engraving. There is iron corrosion adhering to the pin bar. Most unusually, the underside of both loop and bar are hollow, and so the buckle frame has a C-shaped cross-section. The rectangular buckle plate is looped around the pin bar. There is a recess to accomodate the pin which is missing. There is a rivet hole at the centre of the plate with an in-situ rivet. There are two further circular rivet holes where the plate terminates. The plate and frame measures 52mm in length. The buckle frame has a width of 23mm, the plate 14mm.

Its upper surface is gilded and is decorated with a marginal incised groove. Two hemispherical section rivets secure the plate. The buckle frame measures 32mm in length.

Late Roman to early Medieval copper-alloy buckle of Hawkes and Dunning Type IIA (1961). The object is decorated with transverse lines either side of the spur and at the wider part of the body, where a longitudinal line also gives the impression of a 'fin'. There is a linear pattern of dots next to this, followed by a triangle of dots and a solid diamond on the head. The buckle is c57.44mm in length and has a maximum width of 8.82mm.

Small, robust copper alloy spur buckle with an integral plate. The end of the plate is missing but may well have formed a hook or a loop that would have fixed directly to the spur. The frame of the object is oval with a small lip. The plate has four small ridges, two each side of the pin and a rivet hole behind these. The length of the object is 35.49mm and the maximum diameter of the buckle frame is 14.88mm.
