This is a founders hoard of nine scrap copper alloy items consisting of two broken socketed axes and a spearhead socket (the head is truncated) that has been used as a container to hold four additional items. 1 fragment of a Late Bronze Age socketed axe that consists of the blade and a small portion of the socket. Axe 1 Cast bronze (copper alloy) flat axe of Early Bronze Age date. The axe is sub-triangular in plan with a narrow rounded butt that is 12mm wide, the sides expand out evenly in a gradual concave arch to the cutting edge which is 38mm wide, the blade is slightly convex in shape although has suffered from corrosion in the soil resulting in the loss of one corner. A probable dispersed hoard of a Bronze Age awl, a fragment of Bronze Age socketed axe (or perhaps chisel) and a piece of copper alloy metalworking debris. Awl - probably later Bronze Age in date (c.1150-800 BC) and copper alloy. At the centre it is almost square in cross-section, measuring 5.5x4.9mm and narrowing and thinning to the tanged end which measures 4.0x0.8mm. The awl becomes circular in cross-section in the other direction, narrowing to a tip 1.5mm in diameter.
