HILARITAS AVG reverse type depicting Hilaritas standing left, holding palm leaf and cornucopia. See RIC V Tetricus I no.80.1 for a similar example. A complete post medieval copper alloy mount or belt fitting, dating to 1500-1700AD. The mount is sub oval in shape, with one edge slightly wider than the other, resembling the shape of a leaf. An incomplete copper alloy Roman bow brooch, dating to c. AD 43 to 100. The brooch consists of the head of the brooch, on the reverse there is a notch where the pin of the brooch projects. The pin is worn. The two wings of the brooch project out from this, they are worn and circular in cross section. In one of the wings there is a white substance contained at the end. The bow projects in a right angle from the head, and narrows to a worn break. The bow is worn, there is possibly a raised ridge down the centre. It has a mid green patina, and measures 18.2mm by 30.7mm, and weighs 6.84g.

At the top of the knop is a sub-circular to sub-hexagonal disc (6.15mm wide, 6.38mm thick). The knop itself has an oval cross section, reaching a maximum of 9.28mm wide and 7.97mm thick.
