An incomplete cast copper alloy belt mount or strap fitting of Post Medieval date, circa AD1600-1700. The belt mount is sub triangular in plan. One end tapers to a rounded point, the other has a stunted tri-lobed knop. The front face has a suggested longitudinal centre line with three grooves to either side (six grooves in total) which appear like inverted chevrons. The shape of the mount in plan is circular with a design on the upper surface. The reverse is flat with a central protrusion. This protrusion is sub-circular in section and tapers as it travels away from the circular body. The protrusion is angle at 90ยบ from the circular base. The item is cylindrical. The terminals are the widest portion of the item 12.01mm diam. The central portion swells in width, the item is slightly hollowed with a central bar across the hollow.
