A Medieval copper alloy annular brooch or possible buckle, dating to 1350-1400 AD. The brooch consists of a circular frame which is 2.35mm in width, and is circular in cross section. The frame is bevelled on the inside. There is a recess in hoop where the pin would have sat, now missing. There is the remains of iron staining on the two points of the frame, where the pin once sat. There is no decoration, and the brooch has a light green patina. The brooch is 16.23mm in diameter, 2.42mm thick, and weighs 1.26g. It is similar to one in Egan and Pritchard 1991, page 249…

A cast lead alloy shot / ball for use in a Pistol of post medieval date (AD1600-1800). The shot is spherical with a relatively well formed surface patina. The shot is relatively round and smooth - suggesting that it has not been fired. There is a sprue scar with two facets where the casting sprue was probably cut with nippers. A fragment of a terret Roman (c. AD 43-410). The object has an oval shaped head (11.52mm long, 8.35mm wide) with a trapezoidal lug projecting from the bottom. There is no piercing in the lug. From the head emerges a bow with an oval cross section that tapers from 8.48mm thick and 5.56mm wide to 3.49mm thick and 3.47mm wide just before a sub-rectangular, enamelled plate. A cast copper alloy tailpipe from a ramrod holder fitted to a musket, pistol or similar gun of the 17th to mid 19th centuries. It would have been fixed under the stock of the gun in front of the trigger. Half of the object is tubular and this portion is circular in cross-section. The mount is sub-triangular in plan with a straight base edge and two long slightly convex edges converging at the apex, which is comprised of a pierced lug with two small knops at either side of the base. An incomplete cast copper alloy purse bar, of Early Post Medieval dating, circa AD 1550-1650. The remains of the purse bar include the rotating circular loop handle and two incomplete downward pointing arms which would have formed the upper part of the flat frame. The coins are all late third century ‘radiates’ with the exception of several worn and fragmentary bronze coins of the first to third century AD and illegible late Roman base metal coins that cannot be closely dated. The object is a linch pin terminal, which is the foot of the pin. It is made from cast copper alloy with a fragment of the iron pin remaining, and is decorated with red and yellow enamel. A total of 25 copper alloy Roman hobnails and tacks. The nails are of varying sizes, with broadly circular sectioned shanks and pointed domed heads. The largest weighs 1.26 grams and measures 15.6 mm in length, 9.9 mm in width and 7.1 mm in thickness. There are three smaller ones which are incomplete. The smallest weighing 0.15 grams. Of the smallest complete nail, it measures 9.4 mm in length, 8.8 mm in width, 5.5 mm in thickness. It weighs 0.56 grams.
