An 18th century - 19th century gold finger ring, worked into an continuous double loop, resembling a closed S. The face of the ring displays a double-looped effect, formed from a single gold band which has been bent and flattened during the production to form a continuous, curved feature. A complete gold seal matrix dating to the Post Medieval to Early Modern period (c. AD 1750-1900). The object has a heptagonal handle with an integral suspension loop at the apex. The handle has evenly spaced longitudinal channels running from a collar below the suspension loop down the handle to just above the matrix setting. A rounded knop crowns the suspension loop. The seal matrix itself is made of a black stone with the initials DE in black script in the centre of the matrix. A Medieval, gold gem-set gold finger ring. This has a large bezel that is oval in plan with a rounded top red stone mounted in the centre. In profile the bezel is biconical with the lower section possessing a longer and more pointed frame than its upper counterpart.
