An incomplete enamelled copper alloy button and loop fastener, of Roman Wild 1970, Type VIa dating (2nd Century AD).
Less than 50% of the button and loop fastener is present, consisting of the head of the button and loop fastener. The loop and part of the shank are missing. The head is rectangular and decorated with two colours of enamel, probably red and blue. The enamelled decoration is split into two styles. A copper alloy pin dating of late Roman dating (4th Century)

The stem of the pin is circular in cross section; it projects straight down below the head, where it has been bent in a U-shape and bends upwards to extend above the head, tapering to the end where it terminates in a break. An incomplete Roman brooch of Colchester derivative, dating from AD 60 - 120.
The object consists of the majority of the bow, head and wings. The catchplate, the pin and the spring are missing. The wings are circular in cross-section and are undecorated. The slot on the head of the brooch which would have housed the spring is rectilinear in shape. There is a single raised ridge which runs along the centre of the upper portion of the bow and onto the head of the brooch, terminating below the slot. Roman (c. 43 - 410 AD) copper alloy nail; The head of the nail is flat and roughly rectangular in shape with rounded corners. The shank is integral and is square-sectioned, tapering to a blunt point. The nail is slightly bent from the lower third of the shank. It has a mid green patina and measures 46.36mm long, 7.55 mm wide across the head and weighs 3.32g.

Roman (AD c. 100-350) cast copper-alloy stud or mount: The stud has a circular head which is decorated on the outer face with an undecorated bone setting which is slightly domed in profile. On the reverse of the stud there is an integral circular section shank which does not taper, but termintes with a flattened expanded edge which was probably flattened with a hammer. The surface of the stud has a mottled mid to dark green patina. It measures 34.65mm diameter 18.42mm thick and weighs 30.19g

An incomplete, copper alloy Roman Trumpet brooch dating c. AD 100-200.
See Mackreth (2011) TR1.2c2 - a potentially similar example can be seen in Mackreth (2011) Vol.2 Pl.81 No.4984. The spring, pin, part of the lug, some of the decoration, and most of the catch plate are missing.

An incomplete, very worn medieval silver penny of Richard II (1377-99), Type 1B (North 1329b), mint: York. Ref: North 1991: 63; Purvey 1962: p.91, cf. pl.VI no. 22.
The obverse bust has a small pellet above the shoulders and (possibly) a cross on the breast. A saltire appears to be present at the beginning of the reverse legend before CIVI, and a pellet before EBO; an extra pellet is seen in quarter 3 under the B of EBO.
