The base is circular with a diameter of 17.21mm, tapering to a point c. 8.00mm above which it changes to being more akin to a four-sided pyramid that tapers to a rounded point at the top. The object has a cream patina. There are many similar objects on the Portable Antiquities Scheme database that have been recorded as Anglo-Scandinavian gaming pieces.
