Very worn fragment of a James I (1603 - 25) silver halfgroat. There are traces of lettering around the reverse, which coins of the 1st coinage didn't have, meaning that this coin is from either the 2nd or 3rd coinages, dating it to between 1604 and 1625.  There is a piercing at the top of the coin. The obverse is very worn with traces of illegible lettering and beading. There is also a tiny bit of decoration on this side, which are the petals from the rose which would have been featured on the obverse.
