Roman coin: denarius of Septimus Severus (193-211) probably minted in Laodicea, Turkey between 195 and 202 AD. Victory reverse with the legend finishing COS II PP. RIC Vol. IV Part I, p. 155, No. 471 depicts the obverse and reverse of Victory, but no the legend of the reverse. The reverse matches p. 159, No. 499. Possibly a contemporary copy. The coin may have been struck from silver or copper alloy, the surface has a shiny dark grey-black patina.
