A fragment of a Early Medieval copper alloy saucer brooch, dating to the 6th century AD.  The brooch fragment consists of the some of the circular edging and the centre of the brooch. It is decorate with an incised pattern, which includes a circular border and swirling interlaced patterns around its centre. A fragment of a silver button of Modern dating (AD 1800 - onwards). The fragment is broadly oval in plan and has a central circular dimple and eight incised radiating lines, creating eight triangular segments. The outer face is convex. The inner face is concave and also has a central circular dimple, but the rest of the surface is smooth.  Measurements: length 12mm, width 10.5mm, thickness 3.2mm, weight 1.2 grams. As this object is under 300 years old, it therefore falls outside the remit of the Treasure Act 1996.
