An extremely worn, incomplete Post Medieval silver penny of Charles I (AD 1625-1649) dating AD 1625-1649. Possibly Group D. Uncertain initial mark. No inner circles. See North (1991) Vol.2 pg.162 no.2268. Parts of the outer edge of the coin are missing and there is a c.2.65mm tear near the centre of the obverse from around 5 o'clock to around 6 o'clock with two c.0.90mm long tears at either end of the main tear. Diameter: 12.44mm. Thickness: 0.39mm. Weight: 0.36g. Die axis: 5.

The sherd is sub-rectangular in plan and consists of a part of the rim, part of the concave bowl, part of the foot ring, and part of the funnel.
