Unidentified terminal that is made from a semi-circular cross-section rod. The rod had an expanded waist that tapers to the narrow terminal, unfortunately on the opposite side although we can witness the sides begin to narrow after the waist, this end is now truncated. The remaining terminal is moulded into a large D-shaped projection, possibly to give the impression that the terminal has been bent back over itself. On the top edge is a shallow (1mm deep) U-shaped grove that runs the length of the item. The item has the look of a roman cosmetic grinder, however the shallow channel an…

An incomplete copper alloy object of uncertain function probably dating to the Roman period (c. AD 43-410). The object is sub-circular in plan, convex on one face and concave on what appears to be the inner face. One edge of the object has a curved and worn break. The opposite edge has a squared lip on the convex face and a crescent-shaped, flattened lip on the opposite side, suggesting it was once mounted on another flat object. There are no decorative elements apparent. The patina is mid-green thus tentatively dating the object to the Roman period. A similar style of object, though …

Cast copper alloy fitting, hollow, D sectioned with a 2.0mm wide x 0.9mm deep, square sectioned, transverse rib around its wider end. Both ends are now open but the opening on the flatter end may be a result of damage. The date and function of this object are unknown.
