The mount is an elongated moulded shape. One terminal is triangular with a high relief triangle as decoration. The opposite terminal is broken. After the high relief triangle is a large openwork circle. This leads to a high relief rectangular with tapered corners. An area of openwork follows, however it is incomplete. After the openwork circle there is one stud which is square in section and leans slightly.

The object is probably a type of strap guide. It has three integral components, an upper small loop, a connecting block and a lower large loop. The upper small loop is rectangular in plan, with the two upper corners being rounded. The hole in the centre is circular and is 3.93mm wide. The edge of this hole has a small casting sprue, which may suggest the object has not been used particularly often. Below the hole, on the outer and side faces there is a horizontal ridge. The second component, the integral connecting block has moulded decoration. Firstly a narrowed rectangular sectioned…

The buckle plate is a trapezoidal shape in plan. The most narrow edge is abraded whereas the other edges are complete. One face of the plate is decorated with a fine wavy ridge within a low relief groove. This maybe formed through a series of stamps. The opposite edge to the abraded edge has two punched rivet holes. The reverse of the plate is undecorated and the patina is distorted by black coloured discoloration whereas the rest of the patina is a light blue/green colour.

The object is possibly a strap fitting. It is made from cast copper alloy, and may date to the Roman or Medieval periods. The stud fitting is reminiscent of a Roman tie ring of a lorica segmentata (Zeinkiewicz 1986; No. 29-30) or Medieval oval strap loops (Egan 2002; 1230).
The body of the object is a conical shape, which is oval shaped in section. The sides are slightly convex in plan. The blunt tip is a broken edge, which maybe a recent break. The body is decorated by a single linear groove towards the lower edge. The lower edge appears to be damaged slightly, as on opposite …
