Possible strap fitting made from cast copper alloy. The design of the object is a human face. The hair, or possibly a crown, is represented by three radiating protrusions, all of which are incomplete. The face, in profile is slightly domed with the apex being the worn triangular nose. The eyes are depicted by a low-relief triangular frame. The mouth is depicted by linear grooves forming a sub-‘H’ shape. The face is set within a lower relief border. A Figurehead of a possibly Roman goddess. The figure is cast around an iron rod which is 3.2mm diam. and 47.7mm long. The figure starts 13mm from the top of the rod. The figure has a dome-shaped item on her head. The detail is worn and corroded. The figure has clothing draped around her neck and behind her head. Length of head is 33mm x 14.9mm wide. Could be a dagger/knife terminal.
