The shot does not appear to have been fired. The object has a light grey patina. As stated by Leahy and Lewis (2018: 345), it is important to accurately record the exact location of lead shots or musket balls and cannon balls, because they can 'reveal the course of a battle or even tell us where an action took place.' The shot measures 23mm in diameter.

An incomplete lead capstan or 'bobbin' shot dating to the Post Medieval period (c.AD 1600-1800). The object is roughly hourglass shaped and circular in section, with a wider flattened top and bottom and a waisted middle section. The object has a white patina and shows signs of chipping around the upper and lower edges. For a comparable example see PAS record LVPL-95898A, where it is stated that these elongated forms of shot were designed to provide increased power. The dimensions are as follows: 15mm in length, 12 mm in diameter and 14g in weight.
