The break does not appear to be recent. The upper face of the header is undecorated and almost flat. The underside has three runners, two of which has shot still attached. A cast lead alloy slug or shot for use in a pistol of post medieval date (AD1600-1800). The shot is cylindrical with a relatively well formed surface patina. It is well formed, suggesting that it has not been fired. A complete spherical lead alloy ball, probably a musket ball, of 17th Century dating. The lead shot is spherical in nature, displaying a couple of nicks and a small ridge, probably the remnants of the casting process. It is a mid grey to white colour with an even surface patina. It has a diameter of 15.66mm and weighs 18.77 grams. Shot of this type and weight are normally attributed to use with muskets, and of 17th Century dating onwards.

A complete lead shot dating to the Post Medieval period (c. AD 1600-1800). The object is spherical in form with the remains of a casting sprue on one edge. The object is covered in pits and scratches and has a light grey patina.  As stated by Leahy and Lewis (2018: 345), it is important to accurately record the exact location of lead shots or musket balls and cannon balls, because they can 'reveal the course of a battle or even tell us where an action took place.' Overall dimensions: 10mm in diameter and 5.4g in weight.
