A cast lead or lead alloy shot. The shot is sub-sphereical with a small conical indentation at oppsite apexes. Joining these indentations is a double stranded groove which is incomplete. The surface has a well developed light btrown, shiny patina. The shot measures 28.12mm diameter and weighs 114.6g.
The shot is a canister shot or sling shot, which is dated to the Post-Medieval period, c. 1600 to c.1800. The finder suggests a Civil War date.

1. has a diameter of 18.36mm. It weighs 30.7 grams. (TGid: 12)
2. has a diameter of 18.36mm. It weighs 33.2 grams (TGid: 9)
3. has a diameter of 20.54mm. It weighs 39.4 grams (TGid: 13)
Apart from no.2, they are slightly mishapen. No.1 is half spheriod in shape, and No. 3 is a bulbous cylinder shape. However they are similar weights and diameters, so probably a similar origin.
