Lead, or lead alloy, waste 'header' from casting shot. The length of the header is sub-rectangular in plan with a rounded terminal one and a broken edge the other. The break does not appear to be recent. The upper face of the header is undecorated and almost flat. The underside has three runners, two of which has shot still attached. The shot is 11.5mm diameter. And has a visible casting seam on each. The surface of the lead or lead alloy has a shiny mid mottled grey. A cast lead alloy slug or shot for use in a pistol of post medieval date (AD1600-1800). The shot is cylindrical with a relatively well formed surface patina. It is well formed, suggesting that it has not been fired. One end is flat and the other is slightly domed, and the circumference of the cylinder has been shaved, leaving eight facets The colour of the projectile is a pale grey-white. It shows some signs of surface scarring, probably caused by agricultural machinery; there is no delamination on the surface of the shot. Three (3) complete cast spherical lead alloy probable shot, of Post Medieval dating. 1. has a diameter of 21.86mm. It weighs 55.12 grams. 2. has a diameter of 20.4mm. It weighs 57.99 grams. 3. has a diameter of 23.03mm. It weighs 58.96 grams They are all slightly mishapen and slightly off-centre hempishere. However they are similar weights and diameters, so probably a similar origin.

A complete spherical lead alloy ball, probably a musket ball, of 17th Century dating. The lead shot is spherical in nature, displaying a couple of nicks and a small ridge, probably the remnants of the casting process. It is a mid grey to white colour with an even surface patina. It has a diameter of 15.66mm and weighs 18.77 grams. Shot of this type and weight are normally attributed to use with muskets, and of 17th Century dating onwards.

The object has some scratches but does not appear to have been fired. It has a greyish white patina. There are a large number of similar object recorded on the PAS database, including: PUBLIC-C52D9A; DEV-9635B4; and LEIC-E156C8. The overall dimensions are as follows: 14.08mm in diameter and 16.52g in weight.

Two cast lead alloy shot of Post-Medieval date (c. AD 1700 - 1800). Both are broadly spherical and there is no evidence that it has been fired. The surfaces are even and a cream / light grey in colour. Similar shot have been dated to the later Post-Medieval period however the date range should extend into the early modern period as similar projectiles were used in firearms throughout this period. This is possibly from an 18th century pistol. The shot measures i) 13.08mm in diameter and weighs 10.32grams. ii) 11.72mm in diameter and weighs 8.65grams.

The object is spherical is shape with a casting sprue in the upper hemisphere and a casting seam running around its circumference. The object has several pits but does not appear to have been fired. There are a large number of similar objects recorded on the PAS database, inlcuding: SUR-A2A4A4; SWYOR-8E3D62; and SWYOR-1BE638. The overall dimensions are as follows: 16.72mm in legnth, 15.68mm in diameter and 18.77g in weight.
