A slightly incomplete struck/ hammered copper alloy nummus of the House of Valentinian, probably minted in Lyons between AD 364 - 378 (diameter: 17mm; thickness: 1mm; weight: 2.5g). The coin is in a very worn and corroded condition. Ref: Mattingly, H, Sutherland, C, H, V & Carson, R, A, G, 1968, 'The Roman Imperial Coinage Volume IX: Valentinian I - Theodosius I'.

An apparent contemporary copy of a  Roman silver denarius of Tiberius (AD 14-37), dating to the period c.AD 14-37 (Reece period 1). PONTIF MAXIM reverse type depicting a female figure (Pax or Livia) seated right holding vertical sceptre in right hand and branch in left. Mint of Lyon.
