A complete post-Medieval lead alloy inkwell with an integral pen holder, dated 1680 on object. The inkwell and holder are integral and have a flat base. The inkwell is square in plan and measures 45.0mm x 45.6mm at the base. About halfway up, the sides slope inwards at an angle of about 25° and at the flat top it measures c. 22.0mm x 22.0mm. At the top a circular hole has a diameter of 12.0mm. Two of the sloping sides have a stamped date of 1680. Between the inkwell and holder it is triangular in section.
