The weight is circular in plan and rectangular in profile.The upper face is stamped with a C with distinct serrifs; it is positioned below the mid-point. Apart from this mark - it is undecorated. The weight has a mid-grey -cream coloured surface patina. The mass of teh weight is very close to the 2 oz - therefore it is likely to represent a 1/8th of a lb Diameter: 33.9mm, thickness: 7.1mm, weight: 58.6 grams (2 ozs)

An incomplete lead alloy probable cloth seal of Post Medieval date (c. AD 1600-1700). The object is sub-circular in form, and appears to consist of the main disc that has a rim on the reverse as with a cap. At the centre of the face is a stamped motif in low relief depicting a shield with capital R in Blackletter script. Above the shield is a plain cross. The central motif is set within a circular border. The upper surface has been depressed at its centre with the edge raised up slightly. Depressions are apparent at 12 o'clock and 8 o'clock around the edge. See PAS record HAMP-4270…

They are broadly similar in size with some having a double grrove on one side. The lightest in this assemblage has a diameter of 25.15 mm and weighs 48.2 grams. This one has been flattened and is less spherical than the others. The largest in this assemblege has a diameter of 24.88 mm and weighs 67.8 grams.
