Possibly a fragment of Malvernian Ware. The fragment is a rim sherd. The colour of the ware is a black mottled brown colour. The material is quite hard. The inclusions vary in size from many small 'gritty' inclusions to occasional larger (4mm) inclusions. Many of the smaller inclusions 'sparkle' in the light. The rim's shape is dome-like in section, with the outer edge being slightly more defined, whereas the inside edge is more rounded. The body of the vessel is rounded. The surface has smear marks which are horizontal and vertical. On the interior of the sherd there are subtle horiz…

x 1 sherd of coarse ware. The sherd is a grey colour with oxidised orange surfaces. The fabric has been shell tempered with very large to small particles. The form may relate to Shelly fabrics from Beckford (unpublished) and may be a rim sherd whose body has a thickened horizontal ridge, when the body then changes angle. The rim appears quite angular with each upper outer edges slightly raised. If this is not a rim sherd, it could possibly be a lid, but no comparison was found.

The tile is a corner fragment. The ceramic material is an orange coloured sandy ware which has an uneven base. The two original unbroken sides are relatively flat and smooth. The upper surface of the tile has a two tone design in glaze remaining. The colours of the glaze are cream and brown. Due to the fragmentary remains of the glaze the design is difficult to determine.
