Two fragments of a Medieval silver cut halfpenny from the reign of Henry III (AD 1216-1272). The coin is possibly Class 5d due to the shape of the crown and beard, thus dating AD 1251-1272. See North (1994) Volume 1 pg 227 no 994. The coin had previously been clipped since nothing remains of the inscriptions. The remnants uncovered have rough, jagged edges and are not quite aligned with the cross on the back, which would suggest that these two fragments were broken apart rather than being cut. They were found one metre apart from one another.
