A complete flint debitage flake of the Late Neolithic to Early Bronze Age period, dating from c. BC 3000 - BC 1500. The object is broadly leaf shape in plan and triangular in section. There are the remains of a pronounced bulb of percussion at the proximal end of the ventral face, with evidence of shallow concoidal ripple marks. There appears to be evidence of short, parallel, abrupt retouch on the right edge towards the distal end. On the dorsal face around 25% of the cortex remains. There is evidence of long, parallel, semi abrupt retouch on the left side towards the proximal end. O…

Three possibly knapped flint flakes or debitage. The debitage have all have fire-fractured surfaces. Two have a white-blue patina whereas the third has a heavy patination with recent damage revealing the dark grey flint. The surface is crazed from fire, but not to the extent of the first two. They have negative scars from knapping. Together they weigh 39.06g. The flakes are possibly dated to the Neolithic to Bronze Age periods ( (c. -3500 to c. -1500). The fire-fracturing may have occurred recently or in prehistory. If it occurred in prehistory there are different theories as to wh…

Primary flakes (x2), probably Neolithic to early Bronze Age: 1.The dorsal side still retains cortex and has scars knapped from the proximal and distal surface. The ventral side has a prominent bulb of percussion, bulbar scars and conchoidal ripples. The flake is knapped from flint. The flake is 45.71mm long, 39.29mm wide, 13.03mm thick, and 24.07 grams. 2.The dorsal side still retains a small patch of cortex otherwise there are the remains of two heavily patinated scars. On one lateral convex edge there is re-touch from the dorsal surface. This re-touch cuts through the patin…

Mesolithic to early Bronze Age (-9000 to -1500) debitage (secondary flake): The dorsal surface has small negative scars at varying angles. The ventral face has a bulb of percussion, and conchoidal ripples. The surface of the flint has a mottled light grey surface which has a waxy texture. It measures 26.09mm long, 35.29mm wide, 9.08mm thick, and weighs 6.23g The bulb of and dorsal surface suggest the flake dates to the period from the Mesolithic to early Bronze Age.
