A late Early Medieval (c.700-c.1100) copper-alloy key with a short hollow stem which is circular in section. The key has a long and narrow ward with a terminal rounded on the side facing the handle. The handle is circular and flat. The wide frame of the handle has a pierced projection set at 90 degrees to the handle. The hole is infilled with iron.
See NMS-70E306 for a very similar, but decorated, key.
