A cast copper alloy late Bronze Age to Roman socketed miniature axehead dating from about 1000 BC - AD 410, though more likely to be from the earlier end of that range. The axis has a side loop, concave side and a flared blade. There is a simple moulded collar round the socket mouth. The D shaped loop occupies about half the length and is worn on the outer edge. There is a casting seam along both sides of the object. The object compromises a longitudinal grooved vessel which expands to 7.8mm wide in the centre and tapers to a point at either end. It is of sub-rectangular cross-section, with flat upper and lower surfaces and curved sides. There is a central, circular perforation of internal diameter 4.3mm. There is no decoration. The whorl has a smooth cream patina. It has a diameter of 17.8mm, is 11.6mm thick, and has a weight of 21.9g. An Iron Age Button and loop fastener of cast copper-alloy, with some remaining enamel. The object consists of a central cast body recognisable as a single piece button and loop, though the loop is now broken and only two small stubs remain. The front is circular and has a circular, flat bottomed groove that probably incorporated enamel at one point, though this has been subsequently lost except for possible small traces. Only the central section, separated by another, smaller raised circle of copper-alloy, retains an amount of red material.

Copper alloy coin. Originally suggested to be a cast potin of the Cantii by this reporter. David Holman of Kent kindly comments: 'I don't think this is a potin. Although unique pieces do exist, I can't see any obvious sign of a sprue from the photos. The obverse looks very much like a struck bronze unit of Eppillus (ABC 408)'. This example is similar to Wild's (1970) Class I (p.139), however more closely resembles later Roman examples with two spheres joined by a band, and a square lug which is not bent as are examples discussed by Wild. A cast copper alloy dumbell toggle dating from the late Iron Age or early Roman period (about 100 BC - 200 AD). The toggle is comprised of two semi-spherical collared knobs joined by a reel shaped element in the centre and is all one piece. There is no evidence of an attachment loop. The toggle has a dark brown patina, bright green where chipped. Similar examples are PAS record IDs: YORYM-825327 and SWYOR-ADF674.
