A probably Early Medieval lead spindle whorl dating from AD 500 - 850. It is of Walton Rogers form A1. It is sub-circular and D shaped in cross-section. The domed face is rough. Measurements are; diameter 18.0mm, thickness 4.9mm and weight 21.33g. The central hole is 6.1mm diameter. Form A1 whorls are dated by Walton Rogers to AD 500 - 1000. Those with a central perforation of 6-9mm are more likely to be early to mid Saxon, and those with a larger perforation are more likely to be late Saxon onwards.

A cast lead spindle whorl of probable Early Medieval date, AD 500 - 850.  It has one flat face and one rounded face (Walton Rogers Form A1). The whorl is 22.9mm in diameter, 12.1mm thick and weighs 17.75g.  The central hole has a diameter of 5.2mm. The lead is crazed and flaky. A complete copper alloy early medieval strap end, dating to c.AD 800-920. Of Thomas Class B Type 1, characterised by a zoomorphic terminal and transverse grooving. The strap end is sub-rectangular in shape, the terminal end is straight with a crescentic moulding on either side to indicate the zoomorphic snout. A domed lead spindle whorl of Walton Rogers form A1, probably dating from the early medieval period from AD 850 - 1000. It has one flat face and one domed face, putting it in Walton Rogers form A1. There is no evidence of any decoration on the whorl. The surface is scratched and the whorl has a light grey patina. Diameter 28.2mm; inner perforation 9.5mm; thickness 8.7mm and weight 37.14g. The size of the central hole suggests a date from AD 850 onwards, while form A1 is known from AD 500 - 1000 (Walton Rogers). The whorl is of a similar type to SWYOR-FC71AF.

The circular disc has rounded sides and a small central circular perforation of 7mm diameter. There is no decoration. It is 20.9mm in diameter, 7.1mm thick and weighs 13.64g. Form B2 whorls are thought to date from the late Iron Age onwards to the 12th century, but the size of the perforation makes it more likely that this one is middle Early Medieval.

The circular disc has rounded sides and a small central circular perforation of 6.3mm diameter. There is no decoration. It is 24.4mm in diameter, 6.6mm thick and weighs 20.94g. Form B2 whorls are thought to date from the late Iron Age onwards to the 12th century, but the size of the perforation (6.3mm) makes it more likely that this one is Early Medieval.

A complete Early Medieval cast lead-alloy conical spindle whorl, of Walton Rogers form A1, dating from about AD 500 - 1000. The spindle whorl is sub-conical in form, with one flat face and one convex face. There is a central, circular perforation filled with compacted soil, which has a diameter of 9mm. None of the surfaces are decorated and all have a grey-brown overall patina. It is 23.5mm in diameter and 10.4mm high. It weighs 27.7g. Form A1 whorls are dated by Walton Rogers to AD 500 - 1000. A cast, copper alloy probable strap end of Early Medieval date, about AD 750 - 900. It has a circular shaft (about 4.9mm in diameter but variable) ending in a globular terminal which is 5.2mm in diameter. 10mm of the shaft near the terminal is narrower at 4.1mm and then steps wider. On the wider part of the shaft are two incised circumferential lines, and the attachment end is broken away and not present. The object has a smooth dark grry patina.
