Medieval lead papal bulla probably of Pope Nicholas V (1447-1455)
The circular bulla is fragmentary represented by half only (with a diameter of 33.3mm, a width of 19.1mm and a weight of 12.7g). The obverse face has the depiction of Saint Paul surviving on the left, within a beaded border and the letters:
SPA above the head. The reverse face has the legend:
[N I ]C O / [L A ]V S / [ P ] P V
The legend probably indicates the bulla to be of Pope Nicholas V (1447-1455).
The bulla has broken through the cord channel, which is still evident in the side view.
