A Roman silver coin. The coin is a silver-plated contemporary copy of a siliqua of Magnus Maximus (AD 383 to 388). Obverse Legend: D N MAG MAXIMVS P F AVG. Obverse type: pearl diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. Reverse legend: VIRTVS ROMANORVM. Reverse type: Roma enthroned facing, head left, holding globe and spear. TRPS in exergue. Mint: Trier, Germany, AD 383 to 388. Reece period 20. RIC IX, p. 29, cf. no. 84b. Diameter 17.2mm, Weight 1.72g.
