A fragment of lower bow and foot most probably from a cast copper alloy Colchester derivative Polden Hill type brooch of early Roman date (80-120 AD). An old, worn and corroded break is present across the lower bow above the catchplate.The head and uppart part of the brooch is lost. The lower bow is D shaped in cross section. It extends to an extpanded external edge which is decorated with tranverse bars and rounded foot. An incomplete fragment from a Post-Medieval copper-alloy sword-belt eye-section toggle fitting (c. 1500-c. 1700). The fitting only survives as the integral open and worn circular loop of the wider end of a larger composite device. This loop has a sub-rectangular cross-shaped aperture with rounded ends forming an eye. Attached to the loop is a smaller sub-circular off-set loop with a circular rivet hole. A complete cast and decorated lead alloy tobacco box lid knop / handle. The knop is broadly oval in plan and irregular in profile. The central knop is decorated as a flower. It has a central raised boss, which expands into a series of radiating lentoid shaped petals. It is likely that these were originally coated with a black coloured surface which has since decayed. The neck below the knop of the lid becomes narrow before expanding outwards in a slanting platform with the remains of the rivet protruding out from underneath.
