The sherd is relatively large with no abraded edges, suggesting it has come from an undisturbed archaeological context. The internal edge has a series of circumferential groves created by the pottery when drawing up the edges of the vessel. The sherd measures 46mm length, 36.2mm width is 7.0mm thick and weighs 12.05 grams.

Irregular sub-rectangular fragment of kiln waste / kiln furniture. The fragment is heavily fired although now much abraded with many irregular small circular or sub-circular holes (diameter 1.4mm). The fabric is a mid - light grey colour; it is mica rich with rose coloured quartz inclusions. There is not a broken edge to examine the fabric in detail.
