Cast copper alloy stud or mount of probable medieval or post medieval date (1400-1800). The mount is very large and is probably from a piece of harness or more likely furniture. The head of the stud is circular in plan with a smooth heavily patinated green surface - there is no cast or applied decoration present. A direct parallel has not been found but due to the colour of the metal and surface patina a post medieval date is preferred. The head of the stud measures 22.7mm in diameter and is 6.8…

A complete cast and decorated lead alloy tobacco box lid knop / handle. The knop is broadly oval in plan and irregular in profile. The central knop is decorated as a flower. It has a central raised boss, which expands into a series of radiating lentoid shaped petals. It is likely that these were originally coated with a black coloured surface which has since decayed. The neck below the knop of the lid becomes narrow before expanding outwards in a slanting platform with the remains of the rivet protruding out from underneath. The artefact is in a worn but fair condition. Similar exampl…

Lead alloy shot/ ball, of probable post medieval or early modern date (1600-1800 AD). Musket ball could be from a small musket or carbine, considering size and weight. The ball has been fired, which has impacted on the shape of it - it is no longer spherical or sub spherical. It's also not possible to determine if the object is complete or incomplete. The surface is relatively even, but not smooth. The colour of the shot is of a patchy mid grey to mid brown.
