The buckle is of the openwork heart shaped type, having an ornate heart-shaped moulding on the outer edge of the buckle frame, containing an openwork heart shaped element. Pin is missing. An Incomplete copper alloy single looped oval buckle with two lobed knops and offset bar, typically of Medieval dating (late 12th to late 14th Centuries AD). It consists of a oval frame, with an narrow offset bar, with a recess for the leather strap. The pin is missing . The outer edge of the buckle is decorated. There are two diagonally extending prominent lobed knops, both plain in decorative details. A complete cast copper alloy pommel from a knife or dagger, dating roughly c.1100-1600 AD. The pommel is oval in plan and biconical in profile. There is no surface decoration. The lower face (with the sub-rectangular hole) is flat which would have allowed the knife handle of the cutting implement to fit snugly against its surface. The face bearing the sub-oval hole is roughly hemispherical (domed) in shape. A dark green well formed patina is present on all the surfaces of the object, this surface survives in good condition.
