A Medieval gold ‘stirrup-shaped’ finger ring. The bezel rises from the shoulders to a truncated point, at which a sub-oval green glass pseudo-gem stone in inlaid into a sub-oval cell. The shoulders of the hoop are plano-convex in cross section, but this flattens towards the base of the hoop.
Dimensions: Length 19.7mm; Width 19.2mm; Thickness 7.2mm; Weight 10.49g.
Discussion: Similar rings were worn throughout the medieval period, but were at their most popular in the 13th century. Cf. Egan & Pritchard (2002: 326), cf. ibid nos. 1608-1609.

A very base or plated gold uninscribed Iron Age stater of the Western Region / East Wiltshire, dating to the period c.50-20 BC, probably 'Savernake Forest' type. Obverse: Plain. Reverse: Horse right with pellet mane, spiral above, large wheel below, various pellets around. As ABC, p. 107, no. 2091; BMC nos. 361-364. This coin is struck on a quite base flan, the reverse appearing to be double struck with the type visible at approximately 12 and 4 o'clock.

A fragment from a gold bracelet dating to the Middle Bronze Age c.1400-1100 cal BC.
The fragment is made from a single sheet that has parallel edges, is rectangular in cross section and has two narrows edges which end in transverse slightly ragged breaks. The sheet slightly downturns at one of these breaks and upturns at the other.
The outer surface of the sheet has decoration consisting of 3 parallel grooves that run the length of the object taking up its entire width. This creates a design of four distinct ridges The reverse is plain.

Description: A complete gold post-medieval finger ring. The band is circular and slightly squashed, the band is 7.85mm wide, 1.55mm thick and broadly U shaped in cross section. The centre of the band is 1.85mm wide and flat, it is flanked by three circumferential stepped ridges and two circumferential grooves.
The central band is inscribed with lettering 2.2mm in height * EYD . VS , O . GOD . OVER . BOND . TO . KEPE
Internally the band is flat and is inscribed with lettering c. 5mm high * I . E . B .

Chiseldon, Wiltshire
Circumstances of discovery Four Iron Age gold coins were found by metal-detector users in Wiltshire. One coin was discovered in 2005 and recorded with the PAS (database number WILT-643B17). The remaining three were found in January and February 2010. Description All four coins are Iron Age gold staters. Three are of a type known as British MA or "Wonersh" staters; the other is a British QB stater. British MA and QB staters were produced in about 50-20 BC. The coins can be summarised as follows:
