Probably a Roman Copper alloy bow brooch of Crossbow type and of 3rd to 4th century date The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the crossbow and top of the bow only (with a surviving overall length of 20.4mm and a weight of 14.3g). The corrosion and encrustation of the surface makes it difficult to identify features, although there is a suggestion of a corroded and filled slot at the rear of the head. A fragment of North Devon Gravel-tempered ware. The fragment includes part of the base of a bread platter. The fabric is oxidised on the exterior of the vessel and reduced to its interior. The coarse components include rounded/sub-rounded quartz inclusions (1mm-4mm), sandstone inclusions (up to 4.5mm) and inclusion of tiny (max 1mm) ceramic pellets. The interior of the vessel is glazed, green in colour with the exterior being unglazed.

Prehistoric notched flint flake The flake appears to be core rejuvenation flake and is cortical with remnants surviving near the distal end. Near the distal end on the opposite face is a retouched notch (13mm long). The flint is patinated pale grey and the notch appears to cut through the patination, implying secondary use of the flake.

A loop-headed ringed pin, with slightly pitted, stripped surface and golden colour (typical of some beach finds). The ring has a dark corrosion layer on the surface, remnants of which also survive on the shaft.
