A complete pierced Post Medieval copper alloy Taunton farthing trade token, dated 1667. Obverse description: A capital letter T under a tun/cask, two roses flanking the base of the T. Obverse inscription: A • TAVNTON • FARTHING Reverse description: Taunton castle. Reverse inscription: BY • THE • CONSTABLES • 1667 • A hole measuring 2.5mm in diameter is punched through from the reverse (castle side) to the obverse. The token is a shiny brassy colour (caused by the coastal mud) and has a worn and pitted surface.

A complete Post Medieval cast copper alloy weight, dating from c. 1500 AD to 1800 AD. The coin weight is disk shaped with two flat faces. One face has been stamped X X at the centre. Above this is a stamped letter D. Below the initials is another unclear oval shaped stamp. On the other face X X is again stamped, due to corrosion it is not clear if the other stamps are also repeated. The weight is dark grey-brown in colour with small areas of green corrosion. Some of the original surface is lost to corrosion.

An incomplete Post Medieval copper alloy fragment, likely from a pair of scissors or possibly a candle snuffer or tongs. Dating from c. 1600 to 1800 AD The object consists of the central joint or hinge, and a small portion of possibly a blade and handle. The central joint comprises of two flat circular plates, 13.7mm in diameter, it is decorated with a central punch surrounded by two incised concentric rings. An incomplete Post Medieval silver groat of Mary (1553-58). Dated to 1553-54. North 1960 The coin is very worn to the obverse. It has breaks to the edges and is possibly lightly clipped. Obverse: extremely worn, with the only remnant of the bust being a small section of beading from the dress. Inscription [ANG] F[R]A [Z] [HIB] [REGI] Reverse: Long cross fourchée over royal shield. A complete copper alloy post medieval sailmaker's palm guard, or palm iron. The object is circular in plan (33.4mm diameter) with three drilled lugs protruding 5.4mm from the edge. The back of the object is flat, and the front has a flat rim with a central area that is slightly recessed and gently concave. The lugs are roughly equidistant. An incomplete copper alloy Post Medieval sword belt fitting, dating from around the 16th - 17th century. The object consists of a flat plate with a tri-lobed top and a foliate incised design to the surface. At the bottom of the plate is a hook with a rounded terminal. A cast copper alloy knife end cap/terminal/pommel from a scale tang knife, dating to the late Medieval or early Post-Medieval period (15th to 16th centuries AD). The object is corroded but near complete. The design is irregular- a flattened oval sectioned base (which would have attached to the handle) bifurcated into two near symmetrical knops. An incomplete lead decorative object of Post-Medieval to Early Modern date (c. AD 1800-1900). The object is sub-oval in plan measuring 47.6mm x 41.2mm x 6mm. The front of the object is decorated in a stamped armorial decoration of the royal shield with traces of the legend [HONI SOIT] QUI MAL [Y PEN]SE which translates to ‘May he be shamed who thinks badly of it’.
