Post medieval copper alloy trade weight The weight is heavily corroded and the marks are now difficult to distinguish. The sword and ewer are discernible but the crowned letter is uncertain, possibly a letter G (George). The weight currently weighs 12.79g, equivalent to 0.451 ounce, probably originally a half-ounce weight, possibly under the Avoirdupois system. The weight is corroded with a dark-green patination.

Cast lead alloy weight with integrally cast loop of probable medieval or post medieval date (1250 - 1700). The weight is broadly cylindrical. The loop formed by two wedges being cut away leaving a rectangular sectioned projection - a drilled hiole is present but is somewhat elliptical probably through wear (diameter 3.2mm). There seems to be no decoration present. The weight is a mid grey cream colour with a good relatively unabraded patina. Where abrasion has occurred this has revealed the grey metal beneath. A cast lead or lead alloy weight of probable late Medieval or Post Medieval date (1250 - 1700). The weight is irregular in plan being broadly oval in shape with a D shaped cross section. Neither face or sides are decorated. The centre of the weight is pierced, the hole is oval shaped with a maximum diameter of 11.2mm. The weight is a mid grey colour with a relatively even and corroded patina that covers all surfaces. A light active powdery corrosion product is present on all surfaces. Freestanding discoidal crudely cast lead, or lead alloy weight decorated with a cross motif. Diameter 23-25mm, thickness 6.5mm, weight 23 grams. Lead weights such as these could have performed a variety of functions such as unofficial weights and measures used by traders and merchants. Dating them is difficult, excavated examples range in date from the medieval period to the nineteenth century.
