An incomplete Roman copper-alloy umbonate brooch, dating from c. 100 to 250 AD. The brooch is elliptical or oval in plan, and measures 26.70mm long, 19.14mm wide and is 1.65 mm in thickness (excluding the hinge). The front of the brooch is domed and is decorated with inlayed concentric rings of red enamel triangles, which increase in size from the centre to the outer edge of the brooch. A heavily corroded and incomplete Roman cast copper alloy trumpet brooch of later 1st to 2nd century date. The head is D-shaped with a stump for a projecting loop at the front of the head and flanking depressions, one on each wing, which may be the remnants of cells once infilled with enamel. The brooch employed a spring mechanism, now missing, secured around a single, central pierced lug. The bow is sub-rounded in section with a bend at the mid point and a moulded decorative button, possibly originally of acanthus form. The foot and catchplate are lost.

Medieval lead-tin alloy brooch probably of 13th to 15th century date The cast brooch is of annular type and is near-complete, missing the pin but is now slightly distorted (with a diameter of 41.6mm – 42.6mm and a weight of 16.2g). The frame is of rectangular section (2.1mm – 2.6mm thick and 10.1mm – 11.3mm wide, producing an internal diameter of 19.8mm). Probably a Roman Copper alloy bow brooch of Crossbow type and of 3rd to 4th century date The brooch is fragmentary, represented by the crossbow and top of the bow only (with a surviving overall length of 20.4mm and a weight of 14.3g).
