Lead - tin alloy boss possibly a medieval badge of 14th to 16th century date
The boss appears to be complete (with a weight of 10.3g) and comprises a basal circular flange (4.1mm diameter) with a raised border and around a hemispherical centre (17.6mm diameter and 7.9mm deep). The central boss has cast decoration comprising a six-pointed star or flower, with a pellet in each of the lobes, near the top. Any moulding at the apex has been lost. Cast lead alloy badge of medieval date, probably a pilgrim badge
representing Thomas Becket of 14th or 15th century date
The badge is of circular, umbonate form and is incomplete, missing the pin and part of the rim (with a diameter of 26.4mm, a height of 6.1mm and a weight of 4.6g) probably representing a buckler. The outside of the rim is raised with a double-moulding, enhanced with raised pellets. Medieval tin-lead alloy pilgrim souvenir, probably of 14th to 15th century date
The pilgrim souvenir is fragmentary, broken on all sides (with a surviving length of 23.5mm, a maximum surviving width of 17.4mm, a thickness of 1.2-1.7mm and a weight of 2.3g). The fragment depicts a female figure within a rectangular openwork frame. The figure's face is cast in relief and she is wearing a beaded headdress and is bearing her breasts.
