Eroded and incomplete Roman bow brooch of uncertain type. The bow has a rounded D-shaped cross section with no evidence of any mouldings or surface decoration surviving. Copper alloy terminal with thin copper alloy strip attached. The terminal has a rectangular cross-section with four V-shaped tapering grooves, defining a cross. The terminal gently narrows before a wide square collar. The single piece of copper alloy sheet is set within the collar. Cast copper alloy chape consisting of a U-shaped socket which is connected to an incomplete perforated terminal through a waisted constriction. The front of the chape is perforated by two small rivets which would have attached it to the scabbard. Part of the back and the lower terminal of the chape are missing. Much of the original surface is lost; however, there are traces of linear ornament on the terminal of the chape. Height 39.5mm, width 22mm, thickness 6mm, weight 9.8 grams. A late medieval to post-medieval copper-alloy knife handle, probably of 16th-century date or slightly earlier. The knife is of scale-tang type, with two copper-alloy scale plates riveted to the integral iron tang. The iron blade of the knife has broken towards its start. No shoulder plate is present between the tang and blade. The handle was attached by three copper-alloy rivets spaced equally along its median length.
