A cast lead alloy or heavily leaded copper alloy button of probable post medieval date (1600-1700). The artefact is sub-circular in plan, and semi-circular (D shaped) in cross-section with the remains of a central rectangular lug on the rear. The front face of the button is domed and is decorated by a vertical cross formed of open triangular shaped wedges; it is enclosed by a circlet of pellets. The reverse of the button is undecorated. The artefact is sub-circular in plan, and semi-circular (D shaped) in cross-section with the remains of a central rectangular lug on the rear. The front face of the button is domed and is decorated by a series of raised cast linear and circular lines. It has a circular cast central circle which is surmounted by a pellet shaped boss.
