The fitting resembles a fish shape with a sub-triangular terminal (giving the fitting a maximum width of 12.3mm) and is gently convex across its width. On the rear (near the pointed end) is an integral, circular sectioned loop (8.2mm wide, 1.8mm diameter and 6.4mm high) defining a circular aperture (4.4mm diameter). Copper alloy looped fitting, probably from a vessel of uncertain date. The loop is cast and is complete (with an overall length of 31.2mm and a weight of 25.2g). The loop is oval (with a height of 26.4mm and a width of 30.6mm; 13.9mm x 17.4mm internal) and is comparatively substantial with a sub-oval section (7.9mm wide and 6.7mm thick).
