A fragment of a cast copper alloy Roman brooch of Colchester derivative Harlow double-lugged type dating to the first century AD. The arms are hemi-cylindrical and decorated with transverse ridges. The spring is held on a copper alloy spindle in a double lugged flange at the centre. Approximately half of the spring and the chord are retained. The bow is narrow and strongly arched, lenticular in cross section and decorated with a ridge along the spine. The rest of the bow, the foot and the catchplate are missing.

A copper alloy hinge from a small box, possibly for weights or a balance and of probable post medieval date. The hinge has two plates of identical size and pointed sub triangular shape, both have decorative cusped sides with small terminal points. At the centre of each plate is a circular aperture with three small rivet holes around it. The plates are hinged on an iron spindle which is retained. This is seized in the folded position. The outer surfaces of the plates can't be seen so it is unclear whether there may have originally been any decoration.

The wide end has a trefoil terminal, the narrow end has a small pointed knop. The reverse has a pair of integrally cast hooked attachment rivets.

A post medieval cast copper alloy decorative strap mount of later 17th century date to early 18th century and of baroque style (Maslin, 2021). The plate is triangular, with ridged margins and moulded decoration comprising a stem with projecting floral and vinescroll elements, tapering to a small knop a the lower tip. The upper edge is wider with pointed corners and has a moulded cherub head emerging from the centre. The surface has a black lacquer coating. The reverse is flat with two integrally cast hooked fixing rivets.

A damaged and incomplete cast copper alloy foot from a post medieval cauldron. The leg has a triangular cross section, tapering slightly to a small foot which is largely missing, removed by a smooth drilled(?) break. The upper end has a curved section of vessel wall remaining. One side of the leg has been damaged by drilling in two places. The drill marks possibly represent an attempt to break up the metal for recycling.

A later prehistoric end scraper struck from a secondary nodule fragment of dark grey flint with a light brown cortex retained over 60% of the dorsal surface. The flake has been removed by hard hammering and there is no evidence of a prepared striking platform. The distal end has long semi abrupt parallel retouch defining a working edge which has been largely obscured by battering damage, some of this is clearly post depositional as it has broken the patina.

The distal end and adjacent part of the right side has short abrupt retouch to define a working edge. The other side of the distal end is broken, and has battering damage, probably pre-dating the removal of the flake from the core. A small area of light brown coloured cortex is retained on one side of the proximal end of the dorsal surface, which tapers to a small striking platform.
