An incomplete tin alloy James II American plantation token. These tokens were minted by John Holt in 1688, an agent for a number of tin mines who petitioned the King for the right to produce tin tokens for use in the American plantations. Such tokens have only eveer been found in England however, suggesting they were never used outside the country. A complete copper alloy love token of post medeival date (c.AD 1558-1714). The token likely would hve been of a coin, however it has been defaced and identifyable detail has been lost. The coin has been bent into and 'S' shape, with the bends both occuring at around 1/3 of the way into the flan. An incomplete copper alloy gold gilt Saxon disk mount of early medieival date (c.AD 600-700). Salin’s style II. The mount is annular, with a central hole with a diameter of 10.8mm. The brooch is missing parts of its outside edge, for the purpose of description, the apex of the complete edge will be ’12 o’clock’. A complete copper alloy buckle dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1720-1790). The buckle has an openwork trapezoidal frame with a separate spindle presented four pointed tongues. The opposite side presents four studs. The object has a dark brown patina. Dimensions: Length 43.4mm; width 22.7mm; thickness 1.6mm; weight 5.36g Similar buckles are illustrated in Whitehead (2003: 112) see nos. XV-XVI which are described at stock buckles and date to the 1720s-1790s.

A large and complete lead shot ball likely dating to the post medieval period (1600-1700). The shot is spherical with a worn surface that is light grey in colour. The shot was discovered on a the banks of the River Goyt. It is difficult to assign a secure history to any object not found within an archaeological context, but lead shot such as this can often date to the English Civil War period (1642-1651). This fitting appears to have been broadly T-shaped in plan although one of the side arms is now missing. The complete side arm has a broken terminal that appears to have once been in the form of a trefoil. A small, copper alloy prick spur dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1700-1800). The size of the object may indicate that it was made for a child - the heel band measures only 45mm wide and 50mm long. The neck of the spur is offset from the back of the heel, and the "spur" itself is fixed, i.e. is a goad rather than a rowel. The neck and goad extend out a total of 30mm out from the heel band.
