An incomplete linch pin of late Iron Age to early Roman date, c. 100BC-AD100. The object consists of a circular sectioned iron shank, surmounted at one end by an incomplete copper alloy terminal. The terminal which measures 30.01mm in length terminates with a break. The terminal flairs outwards with a 'flared skirt' where it joins the iron shaft above this is a circumferential collar. The opposite end of the shaft is incomplete.
