A complete leaf arrowhead dating to the Neolithic period (c. 4000 - 2150 BC). The arrowhead is formed on a brownish-grey coloured tertiary flint flake; both the dorsal and ventral faces are extensively retouched around all edges. The arrowhead is lentoid or pointed oval in plan and lentoid in cross section. The butt of the arrowhead has been trimmed and extensively reworked removing any trace of the striking platform or bulb of percussion. The ripples of percussion can be made out on the ventral face. A complete knapped or flaked flint leaf shaped arrowhead, of Neolithic dating (c. 3500 BC to c. 2500 BC). The arrowhead is leaf shaped in plan, consisting of a pointed oval shape.. It has been made from a piece of tertiary debitage as no cortex (outer rind) is visible on either the dorsal (upper) and ventral (lower) faces. It measures 44 mm in length, 21 mm wide and 3 mm thick. It weighs 4.5 g. The arrowhead has been made from a grey coloured flint and is opaque. Green, H.S. 1980. The Flint Arrowheads of the British Isles. BAR British Series 75(i).Oxford.

A damaged flint arrowhead discovered as part of an excavation undertaken by Solihull Archaeological Group. The report on the flint below was produced by Alex Thompson for Solihull Archaeological Group. 'Flint from Solihull Archaeology Group Leaf-shaped arrowhead. A complete knapped flint flake, dating to the Neolithic period between c. 4000 – c. 2200 BC (length: 22mm; width: 20mm; thickness: 4mm; weight: 1.22g). There is a small striking platform at the top of the ventral (lower face) side of the flake, with a bulb of percussion, small eraillure scar and further radial scars below. Additionally, there are faint curved ripples or ‘lunettes’ running down the ventral side.
