A corroded, cast iron cannon ball, dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1600-1800). The object is spherical with a rough and pitted surface. with corrosion scale adhering loosely to the surface, dark orange-red in colour. There are no visible marks related to casting. Dimensions: Diameter 57mm; weight 750.6g The diameter and weight of the ball could be suggestive of its use in a 60mm or 70mm cannon (See: http://www.civilwarartillery.com/shottables.htm). An iron ball, possibly a piece of canister shot from a post medieval gunpowder weapon. The object is roughly spherical with an uneven surface, mostly coated in reddish orange iron oxide rust. A small battle was fought in the area of Melling during the English Civil War, suggesting a date of AD 1642-1651.

Iron dagger which appears to have an integral pommel although the object still has mud on and is fairly corroded. The blade is slightly bent and the pommel is not set straight. The handle is thicker than the blade. The blade appears to be flat and double edged. This type of dagger dates to the Post- Medieval period

A small casket box key made of cast iron. The key has a small circular ring at one end, with an offset plate bit at right angles to the stem. The stem extends slightly longer than the bit so is probably a Winchester Type 7.
