An incomplete Roman copper alloy British plate brooch dating from AD 150- 250. It would have had an applied repousse disc on the front, but this is missing. The upper surface of the circular brooch is uneven. There is a crescent shaped protrusion on the outer edge of the brooch next to the hinge housing on the rear. This was probably a headloop. The reverse is flat and undecorated with the hinge for the pin in situ. The pin is missing along with the majority of the catch plate. The hinge for the pin is of unusual construction. A complete copper alloy Roman brooch, devolved trumpet type (group B), dating to c. AD 75 - 200. The brooch has an oval head with a decorated collar before a complete head loop. There is a three part moulded decoration in the centre of the bow with vertical incised lines down the lower bow leading to decorated collars on the foot. There is a lyre-shaped catchplate which is almost complete but bent and there is a complete in situ pin. Length 48.19 mm, width 13.17 mm and weight 9.72 g. The head is a plain spring case, with flat ends, each of which is perforated to support an iron axis bar. The spring is mounted on this. The pin does not survive. The bow is rectangular in cross-section and appears to be plain other than traces of a white metal coating. Measurements are; length 20.0mm, width 15.7mm, thickness 8.8mm and weight 4.63g.

A copper alloy fragment of a Roman Trumpet brooch dating from AD 75 - 175. Only the centre of the bow survives, with the characteristic acanthus knop. There is a triple collar above and below the knop, and the moulding is only on the front and sides of the bow. The knop has three petals above and three below a central simple reel moulding, now damaged. The breaks are patinated. Measurements are; length 30.6mm, width 7.8mm, thickness 8.8mm and weight 4.67g.
